At China Immersion Institute, we offer two programs. They are:

China Express:

The China Express program is designed especially for people who are relocating to China and need a crash-course in making the transition smoothly. In this program, you will stay at CII for 1 week (you can choose to extend to 2 weeks if you like). In that time, we will teach you how to:

Speak Survival Chinese
Do Shopping for food, clothes, etc.
Negotiate prices
Use all forms of public transportation
Hire a domestic
Order food in a restaurant and much, much more…

China Immersion:

The China Immersion program is designed especially for people who are exploring business opportunities in China, coming here to live and work or those who simply want to understand more about the world's fastest growing economy.

This program begins at the very beginning by assuming that you have a zero or near zero understanding of Chinese language or culture. We move you methodically through exercises that not only teach you to speak Mandarin Chinese fluently but also train you to be fluent in the Chinese culture.

This program is intensive in nature. You will be in an environment that allows you to practice everything you learn: before, during and after classes, during meals and daily activities. You will be surprised at how little English you will be using after the first few days. In classes, you will cover approximately 1 to 2 units each day, in daily life you will be reviewing what you have learned constantly, so in the space of one month, you will not only be able to complete level 1 of our elementary phase, you will be able make use of those lessons in your daily life. [See courses]

The complete immersion program involves 3 phases, with 2 levels each. Students entering phase 1, level 1, have ZERO Chinese ability; those exiting phase 3, level 2, are perfectly fluent at the most advanced levels of business Chinese. The following is a more detailed description of the 3 phases:

Phases of Study

Elementary Phase: Two levels, 50 Units. [See courses]

After completing these Elementary levels, you will be ready to communicate confidently in a range of situations common to daily life. Not only will you be able to speak Chinese after this phase is complete, you will also be able to read and write basic passages. Additionally, upon completion, you will have developed a firm foundation in vocabulary, pronunciation and sentence structures that will allow you to begin building contacts and friendships with Chinese people in Chinese.

Intermediate Phase: Two levels, 40 Units. [See courses]

After completing these Intermediate levels, you will be able to communicate fluently in virtually every daily-life situation, and you will be able to speak competently in a wide range of business topics. You will be able to handle such topics as banking, finance, e-business, marketing, negotiations, insurance and securities, investment and litigation. You will also have developed an ability to write for formal and business purposes.

Advanced Phase: Two levels, 32 Units. [See courses]

After completing these advanced levels, you will be able to handle anything that comes your way in the Chinese world. You will be able to read Chinese non-fiction works fluently to the point that you will be able to conduct research into business and other socio-economic/historical issues. Additionally, you will be able to hold advanced conversations concerning every aspect of business organization and activity.
